Abstract

Rinitis alergi secara klinis didefinisikan sebagai peradangan simtomatis hidung yang diperantarai oleh imunoglobulin E (IgE) akibat paparan zat asing yang disebut alergen. Gejala-gejala rinitis alergi diantaranya, hidung gatal, bersin-bersin, keluarnya cairan jernih dari hidung, hidung tersumbat, rasa penuh di kepala dan sinus paranasal. Allergic Rhinitis and Its Impact on Asthma (ARIA) 2010 melaporkan bahwa 500 juta orang di dunia telah menderita kondisi ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kejadian dugaan rinitis alergi berdasarkan evaluasi gejala klinis pada mahasiswa FK UNTAR angkatan 2019-2020. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan desain cross-sectional. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 72 responden. Kuesioner berdasarkan ARIA guidelines 2010 dan sampel diambil dengan teknik Purposive Sampling. Hasilnya 11 dari 72 mahasiswa (15,3%) diduga menderita rinitis alergi. Usia terbanyak adalah 20 tahun (54,5%) dengan mayoritas  jenis kelamin perempuan (81,8%).  Menurut klasifikasi ARIA 2010, berdasarkan durasi berlangsungnya gejala dan derajat keparahan gejala mendapatkan 7 dari 11 responden (63,6%) mengalami gejala sedang-berat intermittent dan 4 dari 11 mahasiswa (36,4%) mengalami gejala ringan persistent. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan pada mahasiswa FK UNTAR angkatan 2019-2020, didapatkan dugaan kejadian rinitis alergi adalah 15,3% dan klasifikasi gejala menurut ARIA 2010, sedang-berat intermittent adalah gejala yang paling umum dialami (63,6%).
